Teratogenesis Figures

Welded mild steel and found objects / dimensions variable.

Started in 2013, this body of work consists of sculptural forms and prototype models referring to the fauna, flora and architecture of a post-apocalyptic era. Teratogenesis Figures aim to physically contribute to the realisation and organic synthesis of animation projects.

Arachnoids and Octapods

Situated in a post-apocalyptic and dystopian world, this practice illustrates the dialogue between biological and mechanical, microcosmic and macrocosmic, natural and artificial space.

As a metaphor, the Found objects assemblage is an exploration of the form as a result of connecting two contrasting systems. When the antithetical functions of the objects converge, it is suggested that the 'new species' are capable to adapt into new environments.

Arachnoids have been exhibited in London Science Museum ( Living Machines 2013 ) , Mission Gallery (Convergence 2013) - Swansea, Colony 2015 - Port Talbot, Art Space - Cardigan, W.C.F.F.S.T.Y. Undegun - Wrexham and Arcade Campfa (Intersection 2019) - Cardiff.

Biomechanical

Body of work addressed to a dystopian, cyborgian and biomechanical context. Situated in an organic-machine interface, the grotesque framework generates an allegory for social reality; providing the shape and critical vision of mutated form and identity. Various media / Dimensions variable.

Occulto Velamentum

Mixed media on canvas, dimensions variable.   Progressively occupying the canvas space and organically building complex textures on roughly sculpted shapes, this creative process has come to be a ritual rather than a physical effort to sculpt or paint. During this practice of expressionistic power and upcycling, the tension between chaos and order generate this mystical activity. The object itself becomes the artwork, where shapes and forms are translated into Symbols and portrayals of a spiritual nature. The limited palette enables the light and shadow to reveal and illustrate the Occulto Velamentum.
